Lurie Garden

Lurie Garden at Millennium Park is an urban oasis showcasing a harmonious blend of symbolism, landscape design, and ecological sensitivity. We are a 5 acre chemical-free garden located in the heart of downtown Chicago just steps from Lake Michigan. World renowned plantsman, Piet Oudolf, designed our perennial plantings to be maintained sustainably and to provide for local fauna. Located along the Mississippi flyway, Lurie Garden is a respite for thousands of migratory birds and insects as well as a habitat supporting our local ecology.

You can help the Garden by monitoring one of their 10 plant species at the Garden or at home and sharing your observations on the Project BudBurst website. Explore the plants in the column to the left or through the poster and flyer below to learn more. You can also visit the Lurie Garden website.
