San Diego Botanic Garden is a leading botanic garden in Southern California with a world class plant collection, inspirational educational programming, and cutting-edge research on the conservation and use of plants. Our gardens create a 37-acre urban oasis showcasing more than 5,000 plant species and cultivars including many rare and endangered plants. The Garden’s four miles of trails weave through gardens representing different regions of the world, hands-on demonstration gardens, the largest bamboo collection in a North American public garden, three children’s gardens, and the Dickinson Family Education Conservancy. We garden “to create, share, and apply plant wisdom”.
Our interest in Budburst stems directly from our mission to both create and share plant wisdom. Through our partnerships with community organizations and by promoting Budburst within our institution, we aim to directly impact both the local community by bringing educational resources to participants and the larger global community by taking action to address climate change and plant conservation.
Becoming a part of Budburst is easy—and important. When we all contribute to conservation efforts like this one, we’re one step closer to preserving the planet we share.
