Activities

Create a garden

Build a site for observation and for pollinators.

Gardens are a great place to make Budburst observations. Throughout the year, gardens change as the seasons change; new plants grow and bloom, leaves change color. The pollinators that visit plants also change over the course of the year. Bees that visit coneflowers in the fall are not the same as the pollinators on geraniums in the spring.

Budburst gardens can be in your backyard, in potted plants on your balcony, or a community garden or neighborhood space for plants.

There is no right or wrong type of garden - plant a plant wherever you can! As a group, you can choose the species you want to plant, install the garden in the space available, and submit data to Budburst as your garden grows!
