Activities

Visit a nature center

Seek out the nature that surrounds you

Nature Centers are great places to learn about the natural environment around you, whether you live nearby or can visit for a short time on your travels. Nature Centers may also offer a variety of outdoor programming and ways to get involved in conservation.

A nature center may have gardens where plants are labelled or natural areas where plants are free to grow and pollinators abound. Both are great for making Budburst phenology and pollinator observations.

For nature centers in the Cook County area visit: https://fpdcc.com/things-to-do/nature-centers/

Three Cook County Nature Centers, Sagawau, Little Red Schoolhouse, and River Trail, have Nativar gardens where you can participate in the Nativars project!
