Notes
During this observation, the garden phlox was in the early stages of spring growth. Several young stems and bright green leaves had emerged from the base of the plant and were beginning to establish themselves in the garden bed. The surrounding soil was mostly exposed, with a few small weeds and groundcover plants growing nearby. The plant appeared healthy and was receiving ample sunlight, which likely supported its continued development. No flower buds or blooms were visible at this time, indicating that the phlox was still focused on producing foliage and strengthening its stems. Overall, the plant showed healthy new growth and was beginning its seasonal development after the colder months.
