The honey bee, wasp and two of the bumblebees were sleeping. The honey bee was on a flower head, the wasp was on a leaf and the two bumblebees were under the flower heads clinging to the branching flower head stems off the main stem, sort of using the flower heads as umbrellas. There had been some drizzle the hour preceding my observation.. The other two bumblebees and flies were visiting the flowers collecting nectar and pollen. One of the bumblebees visiting the flowers had a bright yellow spot on its head. The yellow spot was a darker brighter yellow than its thorax. It was also quite windy off and on shaking the flower head with the sleeping bees pretty vigorously, but it didn’t seem to bother them.
