Identification hints

While the Gray-headed coneflower prefers full sun, it will also do well in partial sun conditions.  The blooming period occurs from early to late summer, and lasts about 1-2 months.  Smaller leaves higher up on the stem are usually lanceolate and few in number while the basal leaves at the bottom of the stems are irregularly shaped.
