Winifred Gilman' is a cultivar of the subshrub Cleveland sage that is very drought tolerant and produces vivid blue blooms. Cleveland sage is a fragrant subshrub that can grow 3-4' tall and 4-6' wide.

ATTRIBUTES
Leaves
Leaves are green, gray, bumpy and wrinkled. The leaves are oval shaped and typically less than 1" long.
Flowers
Blue-violet flowers are borne in dense clusters on 12" spikes. Individual flowers are tubular and two-lipped. The upper lip is with two lobes and the lower lip has three lobes, the middle of which is longer. Two stamens and the style beyond the lips of the flower.
Fruits
Salvia fruits are 4 nutlets (small hard seeds) that are can be found inside of the dried calyxes.
Bloom Time
Blooms April through August.
