HABITAT
This salt-tolerant aster typically grows in marshes, tidal flats, lagoons, and other coastal habitats.
ATTRIBUTES
Leaves
Oval, semi-evergreen, succulent leaves grow about 4" long. The leaves are silvery green with short hairs both above and below, and with a few teeth at the base.
Flowers
A yellow daisy-type flower is borne at the end of the stems, each with 15-30 ray florets, and many yellow disc florets with black stamens in the middle.
Fruits
Produces a burr like head full of single-seeded, more or less triangular shaped fruits.
