A small deciduous shrub in the coffee family, Buttonwillow has opposite or whorled leaves of three. The flowers are composed of many tubular white to pale yellow with protruding stigmas, arranged in a ball-shape.

Did you know?

The best places to find Buttonwillow are wet, saturated soils, like marshes or wet meadows. Buttonwillow bushes do best in full sun and can tolerate water levels up to 3 ft. The flowers generally appear sometime between June and September, depending on what latitude they occur.
