Riveredge Nature Center, nestled in rural Newburg, WI, was one of the first and is currently one of the largest nature centers in southeastern Wisconsin. It consists of 380 acres of natural sanctuary – prairies, forests, ponds and marshes along the Milwaukee River. Riveredge has been a leader in citizen monitoring since it was established in the late 1960s as well as a leader in environmental education. Our mission is to inspire, inform and enable responsible environmental decision-making and sustainable practices by providing leadership in education, preserving and restoring the Riveredge and other natural sanctuaries, and serving as a resource for scientific research.
