Activities

Grades 6-8

Budburst can help deepen your students’ understanding of plants and ecosystems or provide a regionally-relevant introduction to climate change. It can also serve as a springboard for students beginning to plan and conduct their own scientific investigations.

Plant Trackers Contest

Activity and educational materials developed by Scholastic to engage students in our Phenology and Climate Project. Students will observe a plant, record key details, and connect plant life cycles to climate change. Perfect for remote or classroom learning.

Engage your students in our 'Phenology and Climate' project with these outdoor scavenger hunts.

Pollinator Preferences with Budburst Nativars

Lessons created to engage grade 5-8 students in our Nativars project. Activities can be adjusted for classes participating in the Monarchs and Milkweeds or Pollinators and Climate projects. Students explore the relationship between plants and their pollinators and develop ideas for how to protect local pollinators.
