Green Bay Botanical Garden is a private, non-profit organization that opened to the public in 1996 and features 47 acres of display gardens and natural areas that capture the beauty of Northeast Wisconsin’s four distinct and wonderful seasons. We are dedicated to promoting an appreciation for and an understanding of the world of horticulture and the enduring partnership between plants and people. We serve the region—and Northeast Wisconsin in particular—by providing enriching opportunities that focus on the beauty and utility of plants, within an environment that inspires, engages, and refreshes.
Green Bay Botanical Garden appreciates and recognizes the importance of plants as habitat. We continue to incorporate native plants, nativars, and other insect-friendly ornamental plants into our gardens. We have used information from scientists on our interpretive signs to explain the importance of the insects that eat leaves, the pollinators that partake of nectar and pollen, and the other creatures on the food web that eat insects or plants. Our garden would like to be involved in not only the display of plants, but the research and science that shows the importance of plants to increase biodiversity and habitat.
